Spanish La Liga side Valencia have confirmed North Macedonia international goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski as their first signing for the 2024-25 season.
Dimitrievski made the transfer official on Wednesday after the goalkeeper passed his medical tests with the club to end a six-season stay with Madrid-based Rayo Vallecano.
The 30-year-old, who had also played for Cadiz and Granada, played 191 times for Rayo and has 69 international appearances.
The goalkeeper has agreed a two-year contract until the end of June 2026, although there is an option to extend it for a further two seasons.
Dimitrievski's arrival has cast a major doubt over the future of Georgian international Giorgi Mamardashvili at Valencia.
Mamardashvili's outstanding form in his three seasons at Valencia has reportedly made him the target for several big clubs, with Newcastle United said to be interested in signing him after the European Championships.
Selling Mamardashvili would mean an important injection of funds for a club with tight purse-strings, with the money enabling coach Ruben Baraja to further strengthen a squad filled with youngsters that performed well last season.
