Chinese Super League (CSL) club Nantong Zhiyun announced on Monday that David Patricio has been reappointed as the head coach.

Patricio, who was in charge of Nantong for a short spell last year, is tasked with saving the struggling outfit who are languishing at the bottom of the CSL table.

"The Portuguese, who has been with the club since 2019, has a deep understanding of the Zhiyun club culture," the Nantong side said in a statement.

"After coaching the team for a short period of time, David took up the post as the club technical director," the statement continued.

Patricio has vowed to steer Nantong clear of relegation, the statement added.

Nantong Zhiyun has 10 points from the first 15 games this season, scoring 16 goals and conceding 31.
