Chelsea-bound winger Estevao Willian scored one goal and set up another as reigning champions Palmeiras stayed in touch with Brazil's Serie A leaders with a 2-0 home win over Bahia on Sunday.

The 17-year-old Estevao, who has signed a pre-contract to join Chelsea in July 2025, put his side ahead on the stroke of halftime by running half the length of the pitch before curling a 16-yard effort into the top left corner.

Estevao then laid off a sublime one-touch pass into the path of Rony Barbosa, who swept home a first-time effort from 12 yards.

The result leaves Palmeiras third with 30 points from 15 games, while Bahia ranks fifth in the 20-team standings.

Botafogo eased past Atletico Mineiro 3-0 with goals from Luiz Henrique, Cuiabano, and Jefferson Savarino. Atletico were forced to play for more than an hour with 10 men after Igor Rabello was sent off for violent conduct.

Elsewhere, Paranaense won 2-1 at Goianiense, Vitoria secured a 2-1 home win over Criciuma, Vasco da Gama won 2-1 at Internacional, Cruzeiro cruised to a 3-0 home victory over Corinthians, Juventude won 3-0 at home to Gremio, and Fortaleza edged to a 1-0 home victory over Bragantino.
