Girona signed Gabriel Misehouy, 18-year-old Dutch attacking midfielder, on a four-year contract, as the club geared up for their first ever appearance in the Champions League.

Misehouy was Girona's third signing this summer, following the central defender Ladislav Krejci and the forward Abel Ruiz.

The 18-year-old once played in the Netherlands and arrived in Spain on a free transfer after refusing a new contract at Ajax due to a lack of first team opportunities. Misehouy is able to operate across the front of midfield and will give the club new options.

This summer, Girona lost key players including Aleix Garcia, Yan Couto, Pablo Torres and Eric Garcia, so the club has to prepare for a demanding season, with top-level European football added to the La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
