Real Madrid followed the announcement of a one-year contract extension for Luka Modric on Wednesday, with the confirmation on Thursday that wing-back, Lucas Vazquez has also extended his stay at the club for another season.

"Real Madrid C. F. and Lucas Vazquez have agreed an extension to the player's contract, tying him to the club until 30 June 2025," informed the club's official website.

Vazquez arrived at Real Madrid as a 16-year-old in 2007 and progressed through the club's ranks, including a season on loan with Espanyol.

Since returning to the club the 33-year-old has spent nine seasons in the first-team squad, playing either as a right back or on the right wing, making 349 first team appearances and scoring 36 goals.

He has also played nine times for Spain, but just missed out on a place in the European Championships, with Sevilla veteran Jesus Navas picked in his place.
