Beijing midfielder Li Ke has been suspended for four matches after he was sent off in a Chinese Super League (CSL) game on Sunday.
In the 87th minute of the game at Qingdao West Coast, Li was shown a red card after he grabbed Qingdao player Zhao Honglue by the throat and pushed him down.
In addition to the four-game ban, he was also fined 40,000 yuan (about 5575 U.S. dollars), according to a statement released by the Chinese Football Association on Friday.
The 10-man Beijing team held Qingdao West Coast to a 2-2 draw, thanks to a brace from Wang Ziming.
