Shaanxi Union FC acknowledged that their mishandling the issue of their employees' fighting has caused untoward consequences.

In a lengthy statement released on Monday, the Chinese third-tier club said their "mismanagement of relevant matters has given rise to widespread speculation and misgivings."

The major issue in question is the fighting between two Shaanxi Union staffs which happened last Monday, but only on Wednesday the Xi'an-based club made a public announcement about it without concrete details.

According to some local media reports, the victim of the fighting, a doctor of the club's senior team identified as Liu Ren, was beaten up and suffered concussion, head injury and socket fracture.

Shaanxi Union admitted they failed to keep the public posted about the accident, saying Liu is recovering well in hospital.

Lyu Yan, who wounded Liu in the fighting, has been discharged from the post as the executive manager of the club's senior team, and is now being dealt with by the police, the club said.

"The club has run across some thorny issues in its daily operation, which let down those who care about Shaanxi Union. It's the club that should take the blame," the club said in the statement.
