The 2024 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Swimming Open and 10th Beijing All-people Swimming Competition wrapped up at the National Aquatics Center (Water Cube/Ice Cube) in Beijing on Aug. 25.

The event featured a wide range of specialized categories for youth athletes and swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Participants included professional athletes and swimming enthusiasts from China and abroad, including Russia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Singapore and South Africa.

Races for young athletes ranged from sprints to more challenging long-distance events, including the 200-meter individual medley, 400-meter freestyle and 800-meter freestyle. The competition provided a valuable platform for young swimmers to showcase their skills, while also contributing to the development of future talent.

The event also included activities for swimmers ages 5 to 70, featuring 75-meter and 100-meter freestyle relays.

The Water Cube Swimming Club team placed fifth overall, marking a significant achievement since its establishment in March this year.

The National Aquatics Center plans to continue hosting public competitions in its Olympic Competition Hall, inviting more swimming athletes and enthusiasts to experience the venue's dual-Olympic facilities and embrace the Olympic spirit.
