La Liga outfit Real Betis on Wednesday confirmed that midfielder Aitor Ruibal has extended his contract with them until the end of 2028.
The new contract is a reward for the 28-year-old's contributions, which have seen him score nine goals in 135 appearances for the Seville-based outfit.
Ruibal joined Betis B-team in 2015 and has developed into a player who can cover at either right back, the right side of midfield or even as a striker, and he is the only player, apart from William Carvalho, who remains at the club since coach Manuel Pellegrini arrived four years ago.
The decision to assure Rubial's future comes shortly after Betis sold winger Rodri Sanchez to Qatari side Al-Arabi, and they have signed Brazilian teenager Vitor Roque from FC Barcelona to help bolster their attacking options.
