China's Shanghai Port edged Australia's Central Coast Mariners 3-2 to record their first win in the 2024-25 AFC Champions League Elite on Tuesday.

Just two minutes into the game, star striker Wu Lei of Shanghai Port sent an accurate assist for Li Ang to get a goal.

In the 41st minute, Wu Lei's goal with Oscar's assist helped Shanghai Port lead 2-0.

Central Coast Mariners seek opportunities to break through in the second half. Mikael Doka kicked a superb strike from distance and made 2-1 in the 61st minute.

About 24 minutes later, Oscar helped Matias Vargas curl perfectly home to make Shanghai Port lead 3-1.

However, Central Coast Mariners never gave up and Nicholas Duarte scored with a volley against the offside in the last minutes and made the game 3-2 till the end.

Also on Tuesday, Zheng Zheng's header in injury time helped Shandong Taishan tie Yokohama F. Marinos 2-2.
