"I feel like I was at a high level," the 20-year-old Russian said. "Definitely, I am happy and proud of how I competed today."

Boulter, the second seed and seeking her third title of the season, reflected on the tough match, saying, "I wanted to give everything I possibly could. But it wasn't enough."
