FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has been handed a two-game touchline ban by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Disciplinary Committee for his sending off in the 2-2 draw away to Real Betis on Saturday.

Flick was sent off in the 67th minute for protesting against a penalty awarded against Frenkie de Jong after a VAR intervention, with Betis' Giovani Lo Celso converting the spot-kick to make it 1-1.

Referee Muniz Ruiz put in his report that he had sent Flick off for "leaving his technical area, shouting and gesticulating, and protesting one of my decisions."

The German will now be unable to direct his team in the forthcoming home matches against Leganes this weekend, and the key game against third-placed Atletico Madrid on December 21.

Flick's assistant Marcus Sorg will stand in, although the club has announced it will appeal the decision in an attempt to have the former Bayern Munich coach in the dugout against Atletico at least.
