Former Brazil international defender Rafinha has agreed to rejoin his original club Coritiba on a free transfer, the Brazilian Serie B outfit said on Tuesday.
The 39-year-old signed a one-year contract with the club that launched his professional career after parting ways with Sao Paulo earlier this month.
"I'm here to let you know that I could never fail to fulfill the promise I made when I left almost 20 years ago," Rafinha said in a video published on social media.
"I departed as a kid and today I'm back to help Coritiba return to where it belongs."
Rafinha left Coritiba in 2005 to join Germany's Schalke and the right-back has since had spells at Genoa, Bayern Munich and Flamengo, among other clubs. He has been capped four times for Brazil's national team.
