China League One side Nantong Zhiyun has appointed Yoshiyuki Shinoda as the head coach of its senior team on Wednesday.
"Effective as of today, Yoshiyuki Shinoda officially serves as the head coach of the club's first team. In the 2025 season, he will lead the players to fight for more glory on the pitch," the club of China's second-tier football league said in a statement.
The 53-year-old Japanese, equipped with advanced football theory, has a unique understanding of football tactical deployment, the statement read.
The Nantong club, which was relegated after finishing bottom of the Chinese Super League (CSL) last season, could be brought back to the top flight provided that some CSL clubs are denied entry to the league.
