Shaun Murphy defeated reigning world champion Kyren Wilson 10-7 in the final to clinch the title of the Snooker Masters on Sunday.

Murphy, 42, dominated the first session 6-2 with two centuries and held off Wilson's fightback in the second session to win the annual invitational tournament for the second time.

The world No. 2 Wilson reduced the margin to 8-7 by winning three frames in a row, but Murphy held his nerve to take the last two frames to win his first title since the 2023 Championship League.

"This reignites my hopes of winning the World Championship again. I have proved to myself I can still win these big ones, so I'll go to the Crucible knowing I can do it," said the 2005 world champion Murphy.
