Japan secured the last ticket in the AFC U20 Asian Cup quarterfinals after drawing 1-1 with South Korea in the third round of Group D on Thursday.

Soma Kanda opened the scoring for Japan in the 28th minute, only for substitute Kim Tae-won to find the equalizer for South Korea in the 91st minute.
South Korea topped the group with seven points and will meet defending champions Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals, while Japan will face Iran.
In the other match, Thanawut Phochai scored in the 73rd and 81st minute as Thailand came from two-goal behind to tie Syria 2-2.
