River Plate has reached a deal to sign Colombia international midfielder Kevin Castano from Russia's Krasnodar, the Argentine top-flight club said on Wednesday.
Castano arrived in Buenos Aires for a medical on Wednesday and is expected to sign a contract that runs until December 2028. Local media reported that transfer was worth 14 million U.S. dollars.
"You've arrived at the top, Kevin. Welcome to your new home," River Plate said in a statement posted on social media.
Castano, who has been capped 16 times for Colombia, made 32 first-team appearances for Krasnodar after joining the club from Mexico's Cruz Azul in January 2024.
He becomes the second Colombian in River Plate's squad, joining striker Miguel Borja.
