Bruno Henrique scored late as Flamengo clinched a 2-1 away victory over Vitoria in Brazil's Serie A championship on Sunday.

Uruguayan midfielder Giorgian de Arrascaeta put the visitors ahead when he dispossessed Janderson and dribbled into the box before toe-poking a 16-yard effort into the bottom-right corner.

Wellington Rato equalized by thumping a 25-yard drive beyond the reach of goalkeeper Agustin Rossi.

Flamengo regained the lead as Henrique timed his run to perfection to fire home from the edge of the six-yard box after Luiz Araujo's cross from the left wing.

The result leaves Flamengo sixth in the 20-team top-flight standings with four points from two matches, behind leader Corinthians on goal difference. Vitoria is last, having lost both of its opening two games.

Elsewhere in Brazil's Serie A on Sunday, Sao Paulo drew 0-0 at Atletico Mineiro, Fluminense won 2-1 at home to Bragantino, Internacional prevailed 3-0 at home to Cruzeiro, Fortaleza drew 1-1 at Mirassol, Palmeiras prevailed 2-1 at Sport and Santos was held to a 2-2 home draw by Bahia.
