Sun Jie scored a game-high 26 points while Wang Gang and Jones
Joel added 24 and 23 points respectively, as the Shandong Lions
used a big third quarter to blow past the visiting Beijing Ducks,
102-93.
It was the second straight win for Shandong, which snapped
Beijing's three-game wining streak.
Cao Zhenhua poured in 12 points and 8 rebounds in the win over
Beijing for the Lions. Fobbs Eddy added 7 points and 4 boards.
Mengke Bateer led Beijing with 23 points and 10 rebounds, but he
also had five turnovers. Zhang Yunsong contributed 22 points. Jiao
Jian netted 18 points and Chen Lei gained 14 points. Burton Nat had
12 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.
In the first quarter, Beijing led by as much as 12 points and
took a 27-19 cushion into the second period.
A 6-0 run moved the Ducks to a 33-19 edge in the early second
quarter and Beijing led 44-35 into the locker room.
In the third period, Shandong's Sun Jie and Wang Gang played
pretty aggressively. Sun's two 3-pointers and Wang's 8 points in a
row helpped Shandong rally to lead 71-69 after 36 minutes.
The Lions still led 98-92 with 1:24 remaining on the clock in
the fourth quarter.
Shandong outrebounded Beijing 36-27 in the match.
