Two Chinese players failed to reach the second round of singles
amid a weak group of players at tennis Pattaya Women's Open.
Australian Open doubles champion Yan Zi suffered a blow in the
singles at the Pattaya Women's Open on the first day.
Yan Zi lost to Finland's Emma Laine 6-1, 3-6 and 6-4.
Olympic doubles champion Li Ting also lost her singles rubber
6-2, 6-2 to Alla Kudryavtseva.
To make up the singles upset, Li teamed up with Sun Tiantian to
triumph in the doubles.
The second seeds beat Tzipora Obziler and Napaporn Tongsalee
6-4, 6-3 to reach the second round.
