Newly crowned Australian Open champions, Zheng Jie and Yan Zi, have cruised to the second round of the WTA Dubai Open tennis tournament.

The second-seeded Chinese pair beat Stephanie Cohen-Aloro and Selima Sfar in straight sets 6-2 and 7-2.

Meanwhile, China's Li Na teamed up with Jelena Jankovic of Serbia and Montenegro for a 2-0 victory over fourth seeds Liezel Huber and Martina Navratilova.

Zheng Jie and Yan Zi will next take on Russian duo Svetlana Kuznetsova and Nadia Petrova, who eliminated China's Li Ting and Sun Tiantian in the first round.
