China's top tennis players recorded one win and one loss Friday morning (Beijing Time) at the WTA Pacific Life Open.

Li Na had an easy opening victory over qualifier A. Kremer, 6-1, 6-3.

Peng Shuai, China's top-ranked player on the WTA list, fought a hard match against Stephanie Foretz of France. However, the 3-6, 6-3, 3-6 loss has prevented the Chinese ace from reaching the second round.

A day earlier, China's qualifier Yuan Meng made it to the second round after beating A. Morigami, 6-4, 6-4.
