President of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of
XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) Liu Qi met with Hein Verbruggen, Chairman of
the Coordination Commission of the International Olympic Committee
(IOC) for the Games in Beijing on Tuesday.
Verbruggen and commission members were in Beijing to attend the
sixth meeting of the commission.
Describing the cooperation between BOCOG and the commission as
close, candid, friendly and efficient, Liu said BOCOG has paid
great importance to communicating and cooperating with IOC and the
commission, and that it will continue to seriously listen to their
opinion and advice to ensure smooth progress of the preparations
for the 2008 Olympic Games.
Praising BOCOG for its fruitful work, Verbruggen said his
commission will continue to provide support to BOCOG in an effort
to jointly achieve the goal set at the meeting.
Present at the meeting were Beijing Vice Mayor and BOCOG
Executive Vice President Liu Jingmin, and BOCOG Executive Vice
President and Secretary-General Wang Wei.
