Soccer: China Finish 4th in Toulon Cup

China's Chen Tao wasted a precious penalty kick as the Chinese Olympic football team lost the 3-4 final against Portugal at the U21 Toulon tournament in France.

The two teams had met at group stage and played a goalless draw. However, Portugal had always been the favorite with more strength and depth.

China's Mao Jianqing hit the poles in the first half and created a penalty kick in the second half. However, captain Chen Tao missed the opportunity.

Portugal scored the winning goal at 66th minute.

In the final between Holland and France, the host French team successfully defended the Toulon Cup after beating its rival 5-3. 

China had to settled for a fourth-place finishing while Portugal stood 3rd.
