Former Germany international Carsten Jancker got a taste of the
plum rains on his Shenhua debut as the Shanghai side romped to a
3-0 home win over Liaoning in the CSL.
Zhang Yuning opened the scoring with a 37th-minute goal against
his ex-club on a rain-soaked pitch at Hongkou Stadium, with Luis
Alfredo Ramirez doubling with his sixth league goal of the season
on the stroke of half time.
Jancker replaced the Honduran forward on 61 minutes to make his
debut in front of Shenhua's home fans and missed a chance before
China captain Li Weifeng completed the scoring in the 85th
minute.
The victory moves Shenhua up to fourth place above last year's
champions Dalian Shide, who lost 1-0 at CSL strugglers Chongqing
Qiche.
Shandong Luneng increase their lead at the top of the table with
a 2-0 home win over second-placed Changchun Yatai thanks to
first-half goals from Shu Chang and Han Peng.
Saul Martinez gave Shanghai United FC the lead in Tianjin with
his first goal for the club since his recent move from Japanese
outfit Omiya Ardiya, but Lu Yan scoring either side of a Zhang Shou
goal as Teda ran out 3-1 winners to move level on points with
Dalian.
Beijing Guo'an edged Xiamen Lanshi 1-0, with Tao Wei scoring to
keep the capital side in third spot.
Zheng Tao and Vicente netted first-half goals in Xi'an Chanba's
2-1 win against Qingdao Zhongneng, a result which moves the side
formerly known as Inter Shanghai above Shenzhen Kingway, whose
Round 15 fixture against Shenyang Ginde was postponed due to the
involvement of three Ginde youngsters in the Toulon Cup.
