Wang Liqin scooped up wins in singles and doubles to lead Bayi
over Shaanxi 3-2 in a marquee clash between men's leaders in the
table tennis Super League.
World number one Wang opened the scoring for Bayi after beating
Hao Shuai 11-2, 11-5 and 11-8 in the first singles clash.
Bayi suffered a setback when Hong Kong player Li Jing lost to Ma
Lin 3-2 in a five-set singles showdown.
Wang Liqin then helped Bayi to reclaim the lead, teaming up with
Liu Yang to win the doubles match 11-6, 7-11, and 11-8.
The two teams tied again at 2-all when Hao Shuai took Liu Yang
3-1 in the third singles match.
Li Jing came back to beat Gao Lize in the decisive fourth
singles clash and sealed the victory for Bayi.
In other results, Liaoning swept Sichuan 3-0, while Ningbo,
Beijing and Jiangsu each struggled to beat their opponents 3-2.
On the women's side, world number one Zhang Yining led Beijing
to their fifth straight victory as the team blanked Sichuan
3-0.
Jiangsu surprised star-studded Liaoning 3-1. Shandong, Hebei and
Guangdong each snatched a home win.
