Orgnanisers have pledged to deliver the best ever Women's World
Cup in 2007 although the marketing of the tournament would be much
more difficult than the men's equivalent.
"The Chinese Football Association (CFA) will join hands with the
host cities to stage the best ever Women's World Cup,"said Nan
Yong, vice president of the CFA and also general secretary of the
2007 Women's World Cup organising committee.
Nan, who was here for Thursday's unveiling ceremony of the match
ball for the 2007 tournament, deemed highly of the organisation of
the Germany World Cup.
"We are deeply impressed by it organisation, and the cooperation
between local organising committee and FIFA has set a good
example,"said Nan.
But Nan was aware that it would be a great challenge for the
Chinese organising committee to market the Women's World Cup as
successfully as the German organisers.
"Women's football is not as high profile as the men's football,
which is the biggest challenge for us
"Therefore, the CFA and host cities need to work much harder on
the marketing of the tournament,"said Nan.
