Weather Not a Concern for 2008 Games: Organizers
Adjust font size:

Bad weather like rainstorms will not spoil the 2008 Olympic Games, a top official from the Beijing Organizing Committee (BOCOG) said in Beijing on Tuesday.

"We have studied the historical weather data in Beijing and believe that heavy rains are unlikely to hit the event," Jiang Xiaoyu, BOCOG's executive vice president, told a press conference.

The Beijing Olympics will take place from August 8-24, 2008.

"The period should be suitable for the Olympic Games," said Jiang.

He added that related government departments are also taking measures and making plans to minimize the effect of weather during the Games.
