Dalian Shide continued their chase of second-ranked Shanghai
Shenhua in China Super League football with a 1-0 home win over
Xi'an Chanba. Meanwhile, Chongqing Lifan was kept to the bottom of
the table after a 1-all draw against Beijing Guoan.
Dalian's 1-0 victory was a long-awaited avenging for the team,
who lost to Xi'an 4-2 in their opening match this season.
The only goal of the match came from a header by Zhu Ting in the
16th minute of the game, which awarded Dalian their ninth victory
at home.
Following the win, Dalian moved to fourth place in the league
rankings with 41 points, only one point behind Shanghai
Shenhua.
In another league match, struggling Chongqing mustered a 1-all
draw against Beijing Guo'an.
Du Wenhui drew first blood for Beijing with a goal early in the
first half, while Wu Qing made equalized for Chongqing in the 41st
minute.
Chongqing, at the bottom of the table, are now in danger of
relegation from the top league.
In other matches, Tianjin Teda outplayed Liaoning FC 1-0, Xiamen
Lanshi defeated Wuhan Guanggu 2-0, Qingdao Zhongnen beat Shenzhen
Jinwei 2-1 and Changchun Yatai tied 0-0 with Shenyang Jinde.
