China has been routed in the ongoing WTA Bangkok Open, with all players eliminated from the US$175,000 tournament.

Doubles specialist and grand slam champion Yan Zi lost to her old rival Nathalie Dechy of France in a first round clash.

Yan beat Dechy 2-1 in the Australian Open earlier this year, but this match she fell to the third-seeded Frenchwoman 6-4, 6-4.

China's Olympic gold medallist Sun Tiantian also suffered an early exit from the tournament, losing 4-6, 6-4 and 3-6 to Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic.

The third Chinese player Yuan Meng was beaten 7-5, 4-6 and 6-7 by Croatian eighth seed Jelena Kostanic.
