   Mary King's Close

It is a narrow street paved with cobblestones, which was blockaded because of plague in 1645. It is said that many families' doors were sealed, so they died because they were hungry.

In 2003, this street was re-opened to the public as a commercial tourist attraction. It is being displayed as a historically accurate example of life in Edinburgh between the 16th and 19th centuries. Since it is said that it has ghosts, nobody wants to stay overnight here. Many visitors said that when they were walking on the street, they felt like knocking something with their legs and arms. Local residents said it may be a girl ghost named Anne.
