Lanzhou University
By placing emphasis on basic theoretical research, Lanzhou University has made great achievements in organic chemistry, cell biology, nuclear physics, magnetics, plant physiology, ecology, basic mathematics and natural geography. The university is one of the top 10 contributors to frequently cited international journals. But its location in Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu Province, has made the university more famous abroad than at home.A key national university, Lanzhou University was one of the first universities allowed to offer bachelor, master and doctoral degrees. It has 23 schools, 35 institutes and six National Bases for the Training of Researching.
