Xia Lihua

Xia Lihua, the mayor of Daqing, a city in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, was born in Heilongjiang Province. Xia got her master's degree at Tianjin University. She was appointed as mayor of Daqing in 2008.

Daqing's GDP in 2010 reached 290 billion yuan ($US 44 billion), up 12 percent over the last year. The income of residents in urban and rural areas increased by 10.1 percent and 22 percent respectively in 2010. Daqing is among the top 12 prefectural-level cities in China.
