Song Meimei

Song Meimei is chairman of Xinmei Group, which is involved in agriculture, seed breeding, processing and logistics. Song established the company in 1990 with capital of 16 million yuan ($2.4 million) in capital. Its sales volume in 2008 reached 430 million yuan ($66 million).

In 2004, Song set up the first space seed breeding base in southeast China's Fujian Province, and more than ten categories of its seeds were sent on the Shenzhou III space flight. Space seeds can increase yield by an estimated 30 percent, which has greatly improved the agricultural industry of the province.
