Eleven elite Executive MBA (EMBA) programs with locations in China were included in the list of the top 100 EMBA programs in the world, either run solely by local institutions or jointly by Chinese and foreign institutions, according to the world's top 100 EMBA list 2011 released by the London-based Financial Times (FT) Tuesday.

Of the top 20, 5 are available in China. The Kellogg-HKUST EMBA, a joint program delivered by the U.S. Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and China's Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, topped the list for the third consecutive year.

China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) international EMBA, a single-school program, jumped 7 spots to the 11th place, the second best in China.

The FT has been publishing the EMBA rankings since 2001. This year's rankings are based on data for alumni graduating in 2008, taking into account three broad categories including career progress, school diversity and idea generation. Of all specific indicators, salaries of a program's graduates weighing for 40 percent.

The Kellogg-HKUST EMBA alumni can earn about US$ 420,000 three years after graduation, US$ 100,000 more than graduates of the 2nd placed program-Trium Global EMBA, a joint program offered by HEC Paris, London School of Economics and New York University.

The EMBA programs have been sprouting across China in recent years due to the greater demands for well-trained business leaders and elites in the booming country.
