Howard's Kitchen, a high-end Chaozhou restaurant, provides the freshest fish, mollusks and crustaceans. The price is steep, but the raw ingredients are top-notch and all the cooking they do emphasizes the flavors of the fresh catch. The seafood soup is very delicious, and lacks a fishy smell because of the advanced preparation process.

Songhe Lou is known for its typical Suzhou dishes. The restaurant's location is also excellent. On the restaurant's left hand side are many European-styled buildings. There is a beautiful outdoor balcony on the third floor, and is a romantic location to hold a wedding. Each room on the second floor has a grand view of the Huangpu River. Suzhou cuisine is neither too salty nor too light, and uses traditional preparation methods to provide an authentic Suzhou flavor.
