Didier Drogba is a Côte d'Ivoire footballer who plays the center forward position. He currently plays for Chelsea in the Premier League and is the captain and all-time top scorer of the Côte d'Ivoire national football team. In Jul. 2004, he moved from Marseille to Chelsea for a record breaking fee of £24 million (€29 million), making him the most expensive Côte d'Ivoire player in history.
Acclaimed as one of the best midfielders in the world, Drogba is a fully-motivated player well-known for his physical strength, superb speed, ball control capacity, explosive outbursts, and powerful scoring capabilities from any angle at any point on the pitch. Drogba has helped his club to three Premier League titles and three FA Cups. He was awarded the African Footballer of the Year in 2006 and 2009 and Chelsea Player of the Year in 2010.
Drogba's contract with Chelsea will expire at the end of June and it's reported that the China Super League team Shanghai Shenhua has been in talks with Chelsea on bringing in the star next summer under freedom of contract, offering him a weekly salary of about £270,000 (€326,700) for a three-year deal.
