Iron-man Frank Lampard is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Chelsea and the England national team. The pragmatic and box-to-box footballer is recognized as not only the best midfielder for the Premier League, but also one of the best-ever midfielders in the game.
Lampard moved from West Ham United to Chelsea in 2001 for £11 million (€13.31 million), and in August 2008, he signed a new five-year contract with the club worth £39.2 million (€47.43 million). Lampard is the Premier League's highest ever goal-scoring midfielder with 150 goals, 126 of which were scored for Chelsea. In all, he has scored a total of 185 goals for Chelsea, and made 116 assisted goals.
He helped Chelsea to win the following trophies: all three league titles, three FA Cups and two League Cups. He himself won second place in both the 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year and the 2005 Ballon d'Or and was the Chelsea Player of the Year in 2004, 2005 and 2009.
