Top 20 most expensive US public universities 2010-11

Pennsylvania State University (PSU), with a tuition fee of $15,250 remains as the most expensive 4-year or above public university across the country for the 2010-11 academic year, according to U.S. Department of Education.

PSU was followed by the University of Pittsburgh and University of Vermont remain in the second and third spots with tuition of $14,936 and $14,066, respectively.

The average tuition fee at four-year or above public universities across the United States was $6,669 for the 2010-11 academic year, increasing 4.25 percent from 2009-10, according to the educational department.

This year's College Affordability and Transparency Lists, published last month, highlights institutions with the highest and lowest tuitions and net prices, and those schools where prices are rising the fastest.
