If you've ever seen white snake or koala in nature, you were likely amazed by their beautiful appearances. But, beautiful though they may be, those white animals are actually suffering from a disease: albinism.

Albinism is a congenital disorder that robs the skin, hair and eyes of color. For most animals, skin is functional, protecting against predators and injury. For albino animals, skin is a liability, leaving them vulnerable to sun burn, skin cancer and other health problems. Their bright white skins also make it difficult to hide from predators.

Still, albino animals have been a source of fascination for humans since ancient times. Because of their rarity and beauty, albino animals inevitably draw crowds at the zoo. Humans are so enamored of albino animals that, in some cultures, they are regarded as sacred. .

The following are the top 10 rarest albino animals in the world.

 Albino cobra(白化眼镜蛇)

The cobra is often considered one of nature's deadliest predators, designed as he is to blend in perfectly as he waits for his prey. For an albino snake, however, camouflage is obviously not an option. This cobra, named Goya, must receive special treatment in captivity, as his albinism prevents him from living in the wild.
