National World War II Memorial, District of Columbia
Located in Washington, D.C., it was built to commemorate the Americans who served in the armed forces during World War II. Located between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument, it consists of 56 pillars and a pair of small triumph arches surrounding a plaza and fountain. It attracts more than 4 million vistors every year, and is a must-see attraction in Columbia.
