Top 10 regions in China with highest disposable income 2012

Chinese citizens have seen a continuous increase in their incomes and wealth over the past three decades, as the nation's economy maintains a high growth, according to a report recently released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China.

The country's per-capita disposable income for urban residents had risen to 24,565 yuan (US$4028.7) by late 2012, 71 times the 1978 figure and equal to an annual growth rate of 13.4 percent (an actual increase of 7.4 percent when allowing for price changes).

Meanwhile, rural residents too have witnessed a sustained rise in their incomes. By the end of 2012, the country's per-capita disposable income for rural residents had amounted to 7,917 yuan, 58 times the 1978 figure and equal to an annual growth rate of 12.8 percent (an actual increase of 7.5 percent when allowing for price changes).
