Pan Tianshou（潘天寿）
Pan Tianshou (1897-1971), born in Ninghai County of Zhejiang Province, was a famous Chinese painter, art educator and art theorist. He was one of the most important traditional Chinese painters of the 20th century.
Pan was particularly skilled in the freehand style painting of flower-and-bird portrayals and landscapes. He also applied the aesthetics of calligraphy and seal-carving in his paintings. His brush was powerful and expressive, giving viewers a sense of thrill.
