Located on the northeast coast of Northern Ireland, legend has it that it was created by an angry giant. However, it was in fact formed because of an ancient volcanic eruption. Over 40,000 basalt columns stand alongside the sea. Most of the columns are hexagonal, even if some of them are four or five sides. They are 6 meters above sea level, with some even at 12 meters above the water. Standing on it, you can take in the amazing sea view. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986.
