Which city has the best air in China? Which city has the fewest traffic jams? Which city is the best one to start a business?

You can find the answers in the Blue Happiness Index City Report recently released by eight Internet giants in China, including Alipay.com, an online payment service provider; Zhihu, a question-and-answer forum; MoWeather, a forecast and temperature planner; Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs, a non-profit organization; 36kr.com, an Internet financing platform ; Alitrip, a mapping service; and Momo, a travel application and social networking platform.

The report, the first of its kind, evaluated 150 cities in China in 7 dimensions, including smart life, intellectual exchange, air quality, entrepreneurship environment, transport facilities, tourism, and social networking.

Shanghai was rated the happiest city in China thanks to its progress in developing itself into a smart city, its residents' strong desire for social contact and travel, and comparatively better air quality and traffic than other first-tier cities.

Beijing stood out as No. 1 in the country in terms of entrepreneurship index, with 36 percent of start-ups selecting the city as the location for their headquarters, according to statistics from 36kr.com.

Eight of the top ten happiest cities are located in southern China, with four in Guangdong Province.

The following are the country's top 10 happiest cities in the online era according to the report.
