Directed by Huo Jianqi.

Produced by Wong Kar-wai.

Release date: February 8, 2016.

This film is about the monk Xuanzang, famous as the monk from "Journey to the West" (or "Monkey" as many know it), but this film will be a more historical look at the monk and his journey to the West, rather than the usual fantasy take on his story - so no Monkey in this one! Huo Jianqi has made some lovely dramas in the past such as 'Life Show' (2002) and it will be interesting to see if Wong Kar-wai has any influence on the final film.

It is scheduled for release on Feb 8, 2016.
