Famous American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift topped the latest Celebrity 100 list of the world’s highest-paid entertainers by Forbes with US$170 million. She earned two times the amount compared with her US$80 million last year. In addition to tour concerts, she also starred in numerous commercials including Keds and Apple.

The well-known Chinese actor Jackie Chan, the second-highest-paid actor in the world, ranked at No.23 on the list with a US$61 million income. He is also the only Chinese celebrity on the list.

Two athletes have attracted the world’s attention because of the recently concluded Euro 2016. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, two of the best soccer players in the world, are also two of the highest-paid athletes in the world.

According to Forbes’ report, the 100 highest-paid celebrities pulled in US$5.1 billion in pretax incomes during the June 2015 to June 2016 scoring period, more than the GDP of Belize, Gambia and Bhutan combined.

Forbes ranked them based on numbers from Nielsen, Pollstar, Box Office Mojo, Songkick and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry insiders and many of the stars themselves.
