Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport was still the busiest airport for passengers in 2017, according to data recently released by Airports Council International (ACI). However, it was also the only one among the top 20 busiest to report a decline in passenger traffic, slumping 0.3 percent.
As one of the fastest-growing years in history, 2017 saw passenger throughput totaling 8.3 billion worldwide, up 7.5 percent, with international passenger traffic up 8.6 percent.
In terms of air cargo, Hong Kong International Airport took the top place, followed by Memphis International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
