"Hardcore" is an English term and can refer to powerful and aggressive musical styles, as well as difficult video games. Its meaning has extended and broadened in recent years so that it now means something or someone that is tough, strong and determined or awesome. China's sci-fi blockbuster "The Wandering Earth" again prompted the popularity of the word as it triggered discussions on "hardcore science fiction." From then on, "hardcore" is used almost everywhere to describe anything and anyone considered awesome, strong and inspiring, for example, "hardcore mother," "hardcore life" and "hardcore regulations."
