Editor's note: The Spring Festival, or the Lunar New Year, is the most important festival for all Chinese. Most years, it's a time to travel home for a family reunion. However, things are different this year as the government has encouraged people to stay where they live and work to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

Measures have been introduced to ensure services and supplies to people who stay put. Companies in many regions have also offered incentives for employees to stay at work while guaranteeing their livelihoods as well as salary and vocational rights.

As a result, 57.6% of people have chosen to stay where they currently reside, according to a survey report released on Feb. 3 by Zhaopin.com, a leading recruitment company. Beijing will see 70.9% of its residents staying put, the highest among all provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland. Shanghai and Tianjin rank second and third, with 69.6% and 67.9%.

Here's the list of top 10 regions that will see most people stay put during this year's Spring Festival holiday, which lasts from Feb. 11 to 17.
